Banger Sisters, The (2002)

Plot: When fiftysomething Suzette loses her job as a bartender she decides to make a road trip to visit her old friend Vinnie who she hasn’t seen since their days as groupies back in the day. On the way she meets Harry, a nervous writer who says he is going home to confront his father, then shows her his gun. Once they reach their destination Suzette finds that Vinnie is now Lavinia, a conservative housewife who is reluctant to reexperience the flower power of her youth, and Harry finds confrontation with himself rather than with his father.

Does any one else think that Michael Bay went too far with Transformers 2?
Seriously, I think that it is a little bit of overkill. Sure 13 year old little boys think that its hilarious that the autobot twins can not finish a sentence without spewing profanity like a broken fire hydrant. I, however did not. I grew up watching Transformers Gen 1. I do not think that any of the Transformers ever used a single curse word… much less comprising virtually their entire vocabulary of them.
Let us be entirely honest here. The torrent of vocal obscenity and vulgar visual displays (dogs humping, robot humping, and display of mechanical "genitalia") added absolutely no value to this film. When I went to the theater, I expected that it would probably have a couple of "damn" and "hell" comments, but not the over-exaggerated flood of uneducated slang not fit to be slung by gang-bangers in the worst ghettos of the world. That is why I was shocked to feel like I should never have brought my children ages 5, 7, and 11 to see a film based on toys and cartoon characters that were designed for children’s entertainment.
In all respects, this made the movie in question objectionable to my entire family. This included my mother, sister, wife, and all three of my children.
In my opinion, no parent with any kind of conscience should consider allowing their children to ever watch it. As much as it pains me to say so, I will not be purchasing this movie when it is released on dvd, and I will probably not watch a third movie in the series, if it even makes it that far.
Sure I liked the movie, but the swearing and content was out of hand. They had swearing 24/7 like you said, and the show wouldn’t even say "damn" or "hell". The movie has swears from almost every robot and they say mild language right at the beginning of the movie! Robot humping is bad, but dogs is kinda "Ok" because I have seen dogs actually do that, but its still sick. A lot of people don’t understand those two metal wrecking balls under long haul. They are so called "robot nudity" and I highly doubt anyone would bring a kid into that theater unless they were allowed to see movies like that. I would expect it to be rated R for profanity,nudity and violence.
This problem with the movie is crazy. The first one only had one "S" word used, and about 2 "hells" and "damns". So the first one was fine, but the second, no way for kids.
Plus Burger King picked the worst characters to have in their commercial, the two twin characters that use street talk and slang.
For a movie like this I would rate it a 4/5 but for a rating for kids, 2/5 definitely for a rating for profanity and all the other inappropriate content in this movie.

I’m also really disappointed. I haven’t seen the movie, but I promised my 5 year old we would go when it came out.

Bays movies are terrible, but the first one was entertaining for my son who loves robots. And, it didn’t have anything objectionable (imo) for kids. Even though there were lots of explosions, the violence was pretty mild–nobody got hurt onscreen. no (or very little) profanity and no overt sex beyond Megan Fox being put in tight, skimpy clothes.
Now, I’ve got to figure out a way to back out of my promise to my kid, something I hate doing.
EDIT: as far as the ratings being a guide, the first one was PG13. I assumed it was PG 13 for the same reasons the first one was–a couple of swear words, an embarrassing masturbation discussion (that my kid completely didn’t get), and lots of explosions that seemed like violence. So, the fact that the second one was PG 13 wasn’t necessarily a clue that the movie wasn’t for kids. And like Jakobdyl points out, the thing is being marketed to kids through Burger King. They need to figure out if the series is going to open for little kids or not.

I don’t think it went quite as far as you do, however I do not have children. I might have a different opinion if I did. That being said, yes, the movie did go a little overboard. And yes, it was much more "adult" than the first one and many people probably just expect it to be similar to the first one, which it wasn’t. However, it is rated PG-13, and was advertised as such. That should have been a little bit of a warning that some stuff may not be suitable for your 5, 7 and 11 year old.

the movie is live action, like with people like they would normally be with huge robots around them. The twins on the other hand were a ghetto old ice cream truck so what can you expect. Whatever else is wrong would be considered content and its clearly PG-13 and also describes why its PG13 on the poster
also they didnt use language in the cartoon because it was a cartoon in the 80’s! times are changing now

(O and btw, i am the type of person who freaks out if i get a B+ or below on ANYTHING…and i think i did on this social studies honors quiz, which was only 4 questions, 20 pts each! I really don’t want it to affect my grade and all..i am super scared! do u think i should be?)
